In March of 2014, a pretty special event took place in Port Macquarie, Australia – the largest BBQ competition in Australia to date (and in my humble opinion, the first one that actually counted for something), the Blues and BBQ Festival.
I was fortunate enough to be invited by the organisers to be involved, and ended up serving both as Head Judge and host of the event. But, the thing we did most was film. Lots of filming. Endless filming. A really, really large amount of filming. And the saucesome product of that filming is below.
We tried to capture both the competition itself but also how Australian barbecue will grow to define itself, rather than just carbon copy what’s happening in America.
Take a look for yourself!
